Incredible Creatures

     What would the perfect predator be? First of all, it would have strength. It also would need to be quiet. A cat fits into these rules almost perfectly. They are powerful for there size, quiet, and beautiful. From a lion, king of the beasts, to a rusty-spotted cat, cats are amazing. When we think of this magnificent animal, we are filled with awe.

     Cats are an extreme animal. The highest living predator, one of the best climbing predators, and the fastest are all in the cat family. Most, when thinking of cats, first think about the big cats, but there are more cats just as cool.

     One of cat's major senses, sight, is a finely tuned tool. They can see better at night than humans and also can see great in the day. Cats have less cones than humans, but they have more rods. This means they can't see color very well. Another specialty is having an extremely accurate three-dimension vision. This helps for jumping right onto their target. They also can hear sounds five times higher than humans. Then adding to this the added benefits of the whiskers when judging where to bite and where they are walking.

     All cats have a coat that conceals them with their habitat. A spotted coat blends in with the sunlight while a plain coat matches deserts and grasslands. Also, cats are naturally quiet so they can't be seen or heard. What animal can beat this?

     With thirty seven species, cats are all shapes and sizes. Each cat has a different specialty. Fast, strong, and agile, these incredible creatures are unbelievable.
